Ruby Bridges Lithopane
thingiverse
Ruby Bridges walked to school in 1960, surrounded by United States Marshals who protected her from angry mobs opposing integration. As the first African American student admitted to an all-white school in New Orleans, Ruby required constant protection from parents who withdrew their children and teachers who refused to teach her. Daily threats of violence targeted Ruby, a mere six years old, but she persevered. This pivotal event inspired Norman Rockwell's famous painting, "The Problem We All Live With."
