https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4619658 Ruger 10/22 10-22 Single Shot Adapter BX1 BX-1 by Concorde October 09, 2020 re-imagined as a Chamber Safety Flag by adding a barrier where a round would sit. The barrier extends upward to block the chamber opening and to prevent the firing mechanism from approaching the chamber. Though a typical chamber safety flag shaped like a .22LR round can work in this firearm, releasing the bolt is a bit finicky. This project takes an alternative approach to the safety flag by emulating the magazine itself. Though it does not actually insert material into the barrel to preclude a round being present, when it is installed, one is able to visually confirm that the bolt cannot advance to fire a round. Though the part can function as intended, it appears that the underlying original magazine design does not quite fit the Ruger 10/22 Takedown magazine retaining hardware. Perhaps the diameter of the circular artifact on one of the sides is too large to fit in the recess it is meant to engage with. The result is that while the magazine release recess can engage with the pin on the other side, it is easily pulled out without having to use the magazine release. Since it is retained, it can function as a chamber safety flag, but, as it is not securely fixed to assure it doesn't fall out when bumped, the design really could use improvement. My other Ruger 10/22 Takedown magazine-based safety flag is better than this one: * https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4816243/
