https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3023742 Ruger 10/22 Straight 10rd Magazine by bluemike807 July 28, 2018 re-imagined as a Chamber Safety Flag by removing magazine artifacts and by adding a barrier where a round sits. The barrier extends upward to block the chamber opening and to prevent the firing mechanism from approaching the chamber. Though a typical chamber safety flag shaped like a .22LR round can work in this firearm, releasing the bolt is a bit finicky. This project takes an alternative approach to the safety flag by emulating the magazine itself. Though it does not actually insert anything into the barrel to preclude a round being present, when installed, it is impossible for the bolt to advance and fire a round. The original magazine design from which this part is derived does not fit the Ruger 10/22 Takedown magazine slot. Much work was done to downsize the part to fit, and to move structures that engage with the magazine retaining hardware. In particular, the top edges were reworked because it looks as though the original design was backwards with respect to the high and low sides. The re-spin now engages with the magazine release lever and does fit well enough to prevent removal unless one uses magazine release. This is the second remix of a design for a Ruger 10/22 magazine safety flag. The first remix is definitely inferior as the base design was nowhere near the shape of an actual Ruger magazine. This remix magazine body definitely looks more like a Ruger part and fits more snugly into the magazine bay.
