Stackable Parametric Syringe Rack

Stackable Parametric Syringe Rack

For mixing my e Liquids, I'm using a dedicated syringe for every flavor. To keep them at the right place and for easy availability, I designed this stackable, parametric Rack.

I let the needles stay on the syringes when I store them, but you can also remove the needles for safety reasons, just make sure you change the overall depth of the rack and the upper diameter accordingly. The Rack can be printed with optional legs on the bottom and corresponding holes on the upper side for stacking.

If you set the left and right frame side too thin, stacking becomes very difficult. It is already annoying with the "minimal" Version, so if you want to build higher stacks, you should probably use reduced or max version.

Parameters:

Number of syringe slots

Top and Bottom diameter of syringe slot

Gap between slots

Length of the rack

Frame Thickness (left and right)

Frame Thickness front side / handle side

Frame Thickness back side / needle side

Height without legs

Legs: Yes or no

Length of legs

Depth of holes for legs

Offset to move legs away from corners Update: As checkboxes do still not appear in the customizer, I changed the Legs parameter to an 0/1 integer.

Hints for Printing:

If using legs, print upside down so that no supports are required. For really big syringes / slot diameters, supports may be needed anyway though.

Good bed adhesion required! If you keep struggling, try increasing the gap space between slots and / or the thicknesses. If nothing helps, try using a brim, though I found it really annoying to remove. STL-Files:

The provided Files are for 16 x 1 ml syringes. I keep the needles attached, they help to keep the syringes in place.
The minimal version uses less filament and printing time, but it is more fragile and maybe more difficult to print if you have first layer problems. Printing time for the minimal version in 0.3 is less than an hour.
The left and the right side of the frame are 0.55 mm thicker in the reduced version compared to the minimal version, this makes stacking a bit easier and more stable. Finally, the max version has both a thicker and a higher frame compared to the other two, for maximum stability at the cost of printing time and filament.

UPDATE:
25.07.2021: Much better stacking! The holes for the legs now have borders at all four sides. You have to set the thickness of the left and right frame side to at least 4 mm for this to be printable with 0.3 mm! I added a new STL for the standard 16 x 1 ml reduced size.
I also changed the legs variable to "Yes" or "No" in the Customizer and set default values to the "reduced" version.

Feedback in any form (Comments, Makes, Likes, Tips) is always appreciated.
