This is a to-scale, life size (scaled to be 72in tall) wearable suit of Torva armor from RuneScape 3. This model consists of 26 individual pieces intended to be printed on a large-scale printer (400x400x450 build volume). I've oriented most if not all the parts for the best printing results with supports and included a very detailed list of print settings that I find work best; you'll find these in a text document included in the .rar file.

I may slice the files for smaller printers if there's enough demand for it.

Edit (1/18/2021): Sliced the bracers into 2 pieces and oriented for printing since they would have been impossible to put on otherwise.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Anycubic

Printer:

Large Size Chiron

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

Varies by part

Filament: YouSu PLA+ Black

Notes:

This is intended to be printed on a large-scale printer. A minimum 400x400 X/Y build volume will be required for some parts.
(Edit: Added some pictures of printed parts.)
Post-Printing

Cleanup

You'll want to sand the pieces with a handheld orbital sander to get the best results. You can find a guide by Frankly Built on how to do this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2tXzxeL4TQ

And instructions on how to prime & paint them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKjVPYnqDug&list=PL8fiKGLVfdY-FxggTFaQHtOadEu_mGNB8&index=326

How I Designed This

Design Process

This project has been a ton of work, which started as a single mesh, saved via RuneApps player examine. The model was only 1mm tall and warped due to player position, so in order to make valid objects for printing, it had to be meticulously disassembled, repaired by hand, cut in half and mirrored to get symmetrical parts, copied and nested together to create shells, mirrored a second time to get opposing parts such as right and left gloves and then repaired using Microsoft's 3D Builder app.

The goal here was to have a suit of wearable armor for cosplay or display purposes, since I've yet to see anyone else attempt this.. anywhere.

The files were all loaded into Cura 4.8 and sliced to ensure there will be no holes in the models when you go to print them.

As I've said above, if there is enough demand for parts sized for smaller printers I will consider re-slicing the models to be compatible.

Original model before edits.

Assembled edited files after separation, repair & rescaling.

Category: 3D Printing
