This 3D model represents a pair of (used) running shoes from the Japanese brand Asics and the specific model GT 21-50 for women. Asics is a multinational brand that manufactures a broad range of sport equipment, but their running shoes are widely praised. Asics is an acronym for anima sana in corpore sano which is the Latin translation for “Healthy soul in a healthy body”. This pair is intensively worn for the last four years but since the Covid outbreak they have been worn almost daily. This can be traced by the state of the shoe. The annotations represent the story of asics, the muddy fibers, the importance of replacement, the (positve) influences of running and the last annotation focuses on the running boom in times of covid. Fact is that running shoes hold many memories and in times of Covid-19 a pair of trainers became a temporary escape from reality for many people around the globe.
