Ryobi S605D Sander to Vacuum Adapter

The Ryobi S605D 1/4 Sheet Dustless Sander is an older palm sander that is really not dustless. The dust collector that comes with the Ryobi is very passive. This adapter allows the use of a shop vacuum to actively collect dust. Make sure to poke holes in sandpaper where directed so that dust can be collected more efficiently. Also, it helps to pipe the output of the vacuum out a window as the vacuum isn't a perfect filter. The old dust collector comes off by pulling up on the collector close to the body of the sander. This dust collector adapter slides on in a similar manner by push it down. The hose part of the adapter which connects to the vacuum hose is design to go inside the hose (see picture). This could easily be adapted to you hose by tape or changing the design in a cad package. You should where a mask even with this adapter. Happy sanding!
