Saab's GlobalEye is a multi sensor, swing role airborne early warning & control (AEW&C) surveillance aircraft from the Swedish defence and security company Saab. GlobalEye consists of a suite of sensors using Saab's Erieye ER (Extended Range) radar and mission system, installed. The unique aspect of the GlobalEye system is that it can view all three domains (Air, Land & Sea) in real time simultaneously fused into an onboard Command & Control system. On the top of the aircraft is the The Erieye ER radar system..the ER stands for extended range (i.e. 70% increase in range) which can detect low-observable air, sea and ground objects. Further at the rear of the aircraft is located a flare dispensing system to protect the aircraft from incoming threats if it is attacked.
