Clamshell design with sealed plunger. Directional vanes in topside grate direct air inward towards vent, and deccelerate water and allow it to drop below and drain. Vanes also eliminate any direct line splash travel to down-pipe. Wanted to use Kevlar for topside grate and fiber reinforced plastics for the remining sections. Clamshell design rediuces fasteners and damage to deck. Easy to use lever handle designed to work well even after sitting in harsh environment. All plastic joints lined with SS sleeves. ** Opened up ceiling vent a bit more in last version to allow more airflow.
