The plate system on the VETUS deck vent is great for the job, the only thing that doesn't work so well is the opening and closing mechanism, so that’s what I changed in my design, I replaced the screw for a lever, it opens and closes fast, when the lever is at 0 degrees it’s closed and when at 90 degrees its fully opened, so let’s say you want it to be half way open. You can just leave the lever at 45 degrees, and it won’t move because it needs some force to move, it is restricted. If the design is simpler then there are fewer parts to manufacture, and also fewer parts to install. More Details on each part in the doc file
