It was through my own experience with roof vents that I tackled this design. Simplicity of operation is key and here I have gone for the simple flick of a lever, just like turning on the lights. Using over centre spring action the design allows for 3 position, front open, rear open and totally open. When front or rear is open the action will be to drive air flow into the cabin, if the air flow is toward the open side, if against the open side it will have the action of drawing air out of the cabin. When the vent is fully open, air will mostly be drawn out of the cabin. The design of components can be easily adapted to reduce cost or to improve manufacture. It is a very small and compact system and the spring system always makes the closed vent stay closed and held firm to the simple rubber seal… no slipping of some action … and very little to no maintenance.
