Here is my entry to the Challenge. The mechanism was designed with simplicity and reliability in mind, idealized to work in all conditions. A Static Stress Simulation was made to test the deformation and material stress of austenitic special steel 1.4462 used in the external part, it was able to withstand the pressure of 200kg over the top. The deformation scale in the attached image is 50. The same central hole size of the Vetus vent was used. This way I could maximize the air inlet to approx. 52 cm² (against 30.7 of the original vent) Waterproof sealing is made of an outer sealant thin layer and a inner silicon band. Total product weight is 1.45 Kg.
