Sabrina (Goddess of the Britons) is a bronze statue by William Calder Marshall and can be found in Roosevelt Island NYC near the Octogon Building ( North West portion of the island). The original statue was made of plaster in 1847. More info can be found here https://rooseveltisland360.blogspot.com/2007/09/octagon-sabrina-part-2.html The original is a 300-pound bronze statue owned by Amherst College. Since it was donated to the College in 1857, the statue has been the subject of numerous pranks and has changed hands between the college administration and various student groups many times. Traditionally, members of even year and odd year classes have battled for possession of the statue, putting her through a lot in the process - over the decades, she has been thrown down a well, flown over sport events and decapitated. The current location of the original is unknown, but this copy is an appropriate setting for the river goddess, as she is overlooking the water in peace.
