Saint Chamond Battle Tank

Saint Chamond Battle Tank

This Tank was build by the French army during World War One. It was a technical masterpiece as it was propelled by two electric engines which where fed with energy by a 4-cylinder petrol engine. On the other side it made use of civil caterpillar tracks. Those where too short compared to the overall lenght of the tank. This rendered the design almost useless in Battle as it was unable to cross even narrow trenches. 400 units of this tank where build before the design was abandoned. The digital reconstruction is based on images found online and was done in Fusion 360. It was rendered in XSI 7 with some minor postwork in Photoshop.
