Our salad was not working properly: the bottom part that latches on to the strainer and spins it was constantly disconnecting from the cover while being spun. It seems the latching mechanics has weared out. This pin simply helps that bottom peace sick on to the cover by splitting apart the original open pin sticking mechanism. Work quite well!
