Saltwater Little Neck Popper

Saltwater Little Neck Popper

I was heading to San Jose del Cabo for a vacation and watched so many great videos of people all over the world surf fishing for GTs, Roosterfish, Snapper, Bonitos, Mackerel and so much more. Loving fishing, I thought hey let's make some lures! This represents a mash-up of the features of many of the popular popper designs available from tackle manufacturers from all over. I've printed many of these and they work great, even for big fish they hold up reasonably well given their hollow nature. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Infill: 50% or less (50% gives you a 2oz plug) Notes: I print them at 50% infill with the popper mouth face down on the table (the whole plug is then vertical) and it prints very well. You are left with very smooth surfaces on the plug ready for paint. I use Fusion spray paint for plastics and hit it with a black back and a red popper face, sometimes a touch of silver on the bottom side. A 1/2 ounce bell sinker is added to the back of the plug to give it tail weight and then a 0.040 stainless wire is fed through the centreline of the plug to tie it all together. It requires a bit of practice to create the tail loop out of the stainless wire, but look up on YouTube for tutorial videos for that. Post-Printing
