Samsonite Luggage Foot

Samsonite Luggage Foot

thingiverse

During a trip a few years ago, my suitcase lost a foot at the airport courtesy the luggage handlers (who knew airports were an amputation risk??). Anyways, the suitcase itself was still in good condition, so I was loathe to throw it out. I couldn't find a replacement foot anywhere, so I drafted up a new foot, 3D printed it, and installed it. It works awesome so far! The original foot uses brass pins. I decided to make my foot a little bit thicker (sturdier) and use M6 stainless steel bolts to attach it (bolt -> washer -> suitcase floor -> washer -> locknut). In order to accommodate the M6 bolt, I did have to drill out the existing holes so that they were a little bit bigger. Easy enough to do. I hope this helps someone!
