I had an old defunct Samsung NC10 Netbook. It pretty much was dead however I couldn't bring myself to just throw it away. I stripped it for parts and obviously had the LCD panel. The NC10 had a basic 1024x600 10.2" LCD panel and after a quick search online I found one of those driver boards. I brought one and then had to figure out a way to use it.

My old Amiga has recently resurfaced and this would make an ideal little monitor for use with it. I have designed an enclosure for the panel that mimics a "proper" monitor. The final design has both tilt and up/down adjustment (the latter is more for fun as it only lifts by ~20mm).

Another "just for fun" is the inclusion of my pretend company name 'qtone', a name which I include on all my audio/video projects. There is a small logo on the front chin bar and a larger one on the rear. Just gives it a finishing touch. Although these are designed to be printed using multi-material printing.

The design just about fits on the MK3S build plate!

Port wise the driver has HDMI, DVI and VGA video inputs, a 3.5mm jack audio input and another for audio output. It runs from a 12V supply and provides 5W's of stereo audio as well. The monitor has provision for two speakers on the rear.

For some reason the website is not allowing me to upload the Sketchup file. Message me if you wish to have a copy.

Print instructions

Print off the parts. Some parts are designed to be printed with 2 extruders but can be printed with only one, there are:

front-case-clip-supported.stl and front-clip-case-logo-supported.stl
rear-case.stl and rear-case-logo.stl
case-cover.stl and case-cover-inlay.stl

If using single filaments just omit the "logo" or "inlay" stl files and it should be okay. There are no large overhangs to cause an issue.

I have updated the front case to have clips to hold the screen in place. This removes the need for the stand-offs that were used to make sure the screen was held at the front of the case. These obviously overhang and there are supports built into the model.

Non-Printables
6no - 2mm x 12mm self tapping screws
14no - 3mm x 6mm self tapping screws
4no - 3mm x 9mm self tapping screws
1no - 20mm M8 bolt
2no - M8 washers
1no - M8 nut
4no - 10mm diameter x 2mm thick self-adhesive rubber feet

Optional
For Speakers
8no - M3 10mm screws
8no - M3 nuts
