Samsung SmartThing Motion Sensor Corner Bracket

Samsung SmartThing Motion Sensor Corner Bracket

This is an extremely simple design for a bracket to affix a Samsung SmartThings Motion Sensor to the corner of a wall. The motion sensor wasn't able to react fast enough when placed flat on the wall due to the location of my garage door. I fashioned this model to allow the sensor to face outward from the corner to view the door directly. I used 2 small 3M Command Strips to fasten the bracket to the wall, and a single small Command Strip to attache the motion sensor mounting plate to the bracket. If you rotated the motion sensor and plate you could also attach ti with screws. This is the first thing I've published and I assure you my CAD skills are practically nil. As such, the model may be slightly misaligned. However, it works fine for my purposes. I hope someone else finds this useful. -Update (7/30/2016)- I've added an additional model with a more minimalist design. This version should print more quickly and use less material, but will be easier to dislodge from the wall if bumped into or impacted. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.30 Infill: 20% Notes: I recommend printing the model standing upright to minimize the possibility of stringing between peaks.
