Blasting gun to replace standard gun on table top blasting cabinet. I believe it would also fit the standard floor type Harbour Freight Chinese cabinet. A foot pedal is recommended although i just connected and disconnected the air hose in use. The blasting gun uses the same ceramic nozzle as the standard gun. The air nozzle I made out of a piece of 70mm long M10 threaded rod with a hole drilled through. The diameter of the air hole should be adjusted according to compressor size. I drilled mine at 3.5mm and my 5.5Hp compressor can hardly keep up. A 2-2.5mm nozzle would likely be suitable. Tip of the air nozzle is placed about 15mm inside the gun from the tip. I would recommend to test different positions and see what works best for you. Same applies to air nozzle diameter. The M10 thread is cut into the gun using a tap. Hose connection is 12mm The printed nut didn't fit directly of the printer so I tried the original aluminium nut and this fitted perfectly. It was meant as a test of the design before I turned and welded one up of aluminium but it works so well that I just decided to print a new one when it wears out. So far it have held up well. I have only tested it with glass beads so far, but the performance of the blasting cabinet have increased dramatically! Removal of paint and rust have increased by more than fivefold. Now I can hardly move the parts quick enough to keep up with the gun. And this is even with reduced pressure. Prepare to unleash the potential of your blasting cabinet! A few other mods have also been done to the cabinet to mimic the mixing chamber as more professionel units have. Pictures will follow. Update: Joshcarz have made the gun and found out that the nut will fit the gun nicely if printed at 103% scale instead of the original scale.
