Sanding Sticks for Small Things

Sanding Sticks for Small Things

These are a collection of shaped sticks for sanding small and hard to reach areas. The idea is that you stick sandpaper to the tips. At the moment I have just been using them with CA Glue, but I intend to try something like PSA Glue, so that the paper is easier to remove and re-use the sticks. The designs here where meant as a quick 3D sketch to see what shapes worked better. But they all have proved to be very useful. 3 and 5 are very similar. I have found that 5 & 8mm work well for me. I intend to try 2mm. You may need thicker, depending on what you're working on. I have used these for light shaping, surface prep and even cleaning. They have been designed in sketchup (file included) and exported individually in STL. I also exported them as plates, as that's how I print them on my Mendel90. So far I have only used ABS, but PLA should be fine. I intend to try something like Nylon for a little flex when sanding. Please let me know if you make use of them and/or you make changes to the design. Instructions These where sliced on my default ABS settings in Skeinforge. Printed on a Mendel90.
