SandWars Sand Castle molds

3 Star Wars inspired sand castle moulds based on simple geometric shapes that will tessellate individually or together as part of a larger base. I've added some images that may help get you started. Design: The buckets have a 2mm wall thickness for durability and have sloped angles on all sides to allow the moulds to be easily removed from the sand, there are also a number of 1mm holes in the top of the mould to allow some air in when the mould is removed, while they're not going to hold water for very long I do hope adding these will help stop the frustration of not being able to get your sandcastle out with all its detail intact because a vacuumed is holding all or part of it in. Printing: I'd recommend printing as a solid, upside down with support for surfaces over 46° to ensure you get the detail of the mould on the inside while minimising waste. Idea: Designed to explore the maths behind geometric shapes and the meaning of tessellation while keeping it fun. With my nephews in mind and with their help I've designed three buckets for them that together can be used to make loads of different tessellated designs and it's a lot easier to keep them interested in something if they think it's cool. To try and add to the beach maths available the buckets have 10cm sides, so we will be able to do maths to work out the area of each sandcastle and how big each base is. You know it will turn into a competition and if learning maths proves you've beat your brother then "learn you will" (Yoda)
