L’església de Santa Maria està situada al punt més alt de la vila, i és l’únic element conservat de l’antic castell de Cubells que ocupava l’espai on avui s’obre la plaça (s.XIII, estil romànic). The church of Santa Maria is located on the highest point of the town, and is the only element preserved from the old castle of Cubells, that occupied the space where the square opens today (XIII century, romanic style).
