I wanted a dual color game board without multi-color printing. I removed 0.62mm from the individual tile spots with a 0.2 offset indent to it "snaps" into place without any glue. The tiles themselves are 0.6 mm tall and are the same LxW of the original square spot. To insert the tiles, press down firmly with your fingers first, then press down the corners using something like a flat head screw driver. Only one of my spots ended up slightly bowed out and barely "bounces" instead of sitting flat. If you're concerned about the tolerance, I added a test corner model. To add texture to my tiles to simulate grass, I used Hilbert curve external infill using Slic3r Prusa edition with a slightly higher than normal extrusion ratio.
