Use a durable material. I printed this in PETG and a previous one in PLA, and they seemed to have held up fine. I tried to use another rounded square design that I found the hole was too tight and I couldn't hit my diagonals reliably. I remixed my previous remix (just like Capcom!) and made a rounded square shape that was as wide as the octagonal design. This works well for me. fireballs and dragon punches and SPDs felt good for me, but your mileage may vary.
