Saxophone reed

Saxophone reed

thingiverse

I made a thin wedge and printed it with different layer heights, and someone mentioned that it was very similar to a saxophone reed. I offered to try to change the shape into one. This is the resulting part. I'm not a saxophone player, and have never even held a real reed so this is based on dimensions, and shapes of reeds I could find images of online. I have no Idea how close it actually is. Instructions Print with .05mm layer height, 100% fill, and with .4mm extrusion width. I had to add a brim to prevent the back from lifting. You can modify many of the variables in the openSCAD file to make different reed shapes.
