Scale Armor

Scale Armor

I wanted to make some accessories for a costume and I got the Idea to make a scale armor shoulder piece. I did some research and found, that the basic principle of a scale armor is quite simple. Print, paint, and tie together, that's it. Print Settings Printer: Fabbster G Rafts: Yes Supports: No Infill: 100% Instructions The .stl file contains 5 variations of the scales. I printed 5 each for the first prototype. I sanded the scales down a little and gave them a silver base paint. Then I randomly sprayed a brown, rutsy coat of paint. In later Versions I will give the scales an Acetone dip and add some more organic weathering to the individual scales. To hold it all together I used 2-3mm leather bands. See Images for details. You can vary the rigidity of the armor by loosening or tightening the bands.
