It can be used to help students deepen their learning and demonstrate their learning. **Solar System Model Learning Tool** These design plans contain a scale model of the solar system at 1:130,000,000. The result is the earth is 9.8 cm (3.8in) **Moon Phase Learning Tool** Models of the moon are laser cut to show the different phases. Students can use the model to explore why different phases occur. **Questions** A series of questions will help guide student inquiry and help them demonstrate their learning. Some of the questions are... -Calculate and place the planets at the correct distance from the sun -Give your best explanation for what causes the phases of the moon -Create an engineering drawing which shows and describes how the phases of the moon are formed" **NGSS Standars ** This lesson aligns to NGSS middle school science standards.
