School Desk

School Desk

thingiverse

This is a simple extension of thing:21830 (Parametric Chair and Table) to add a desktop to the chair to turn it into a school desk. Instructions I printed this desk very small, at the 0.35 scale that has been put into the desk.scad file. The desks were used as a substitute for houses in a school-based home-made version of the board game Monopoly. In this OpenSCAD file, I rewrote much of the code for thing:21830 to replace the polyhedra with linear extruded simple rectangles. To avoid requiring support material, I reoriented the chair sideways and wrote in my own support structures, which are two plates that support the top chair legs. These supports should be removed after printing. A brim of at least 1mm is recommended when creating the gcode, as otherwise the desk part has a very small connection to the base and will tend to pull off the base.
