Front bumper vertical daytime running/driving/fog lights for Scion xB 2008-2010. Photos to be added soon!

Updated 6-MAY-2022: Bezel part now extends further down the side of the body for a better match to vehicle body, as well as includes a small Scion-esque design to make the bezel more rigid which retains the lens diffuser better. (Example gcode included for diffuser - this file may not be compatible with your printer, and is provided forREFERENCE ONLY).

Printed parts required:

(Be sure to print one each "DRVR" and "PSGR" on body/inner/bezel. They are mirrored, so not interchangeable. Naming convention based on US driver and passenger side, to avoid any confusion on left/right from different perspectives)

2x Body

2x Inner

2x Bezel (Optional, but recommended for aesthetics and weatherproofing)

2x ORing (Print in TPU/flexible, for sealing the connections)

1x Lens template (For tracing onto plexi/acryllic lens material)

2x Lens Diffuser (Use the lens template file, scaled to 1 or 2 layers, using a large nozzle width, and single direction infill lines. Example gcode included forREFERENCE ONLY; MAY NOT be compatible with your printer.)

Electronics required:

12x 3W LED, White, on star-shaped heatsinks

4x 15R 5W Ceramic Resistor

4x 400mA Polyfuse resettable PPTC (Optional, but I like to use these on LED projects, especially when not using a constant-current driver circuit, but just a current limiting resistor)

2x 2Pin Aviation style connector

Hardware required:

8x M3X6 Screws

4x M3X10 Screws (Could use shorter if not using bezel)

Other materials required:

Solid hookup wire (for internal use)

Wiring/cabling (for external hookup to car)

3mm Plexiglass (for lenses)

Clear RTV Silicone sealant (or similar, for keeping water out)

Solder, soldering iron, tools for assembly (such as M3 tap, allen wrench for screws, scrollsaw or other method to cut lens, and wire cutters/strippers)

If you are unsure how to hook things up safely and effectively, consult a professional. PLA could warp/melt (typ. HDT around 55C, with PETG around 70C). ABS is also not recommended as it doesn't tend to hold up well outdoors with UV exposure. ASA or other more "exotic" filaments may be better choices, depending on end users experience with those filaments.

Category: Automotive
