IMPORTANT: I ADDED A GASKET KIT, NO PROMISES OF WATER RESISTANCE CAN BE MADE. I AM USING IT NOW, BUT AS I DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT, I WILL NOT BE DOING ANY TESTS.

The fob I got isn't as bad as some, but it's quite worn, and I'm concerned about it breaking loose because of the age of the plastic. Since I've been in the habit of recreated cases for things recently, why not do this one as well.

Don't mind the sketchy buttons in the pic, that's my first attempt and forgot to increase it from 10% infill to the 80% I meant to use.

Print Settings

Printer:

Davinci Repetier Mod

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2 for body, .05 for logo and lettered buttons

Infill:

80%

Filament: hatchbox and unbranded glowy green ABS is suggested black/green

Notes:

The case just needs to fit the stuff, so your settings can be rough, but I don't suggest anything over .4mm nozzle or .3 layer height. The lettered buttons I highly suggest going with no bigger than a .3mm nozzle, mine was done with a .25mm, and a layer height of .05, but .1 would probably do fine.
I have included 2 different depths for the back of the case. This design is not water proof/resistant by default. I designed a gasket for each button and the case as a whole, to be printed in flexible filament. If you're not interested in any water resistance, you can use the thicker version and just sand it down to fit snug like I did at first.

The front case has a recessed oval for the scion logo, I just used the remixed one I made for my emblem replacement, and printed it at 13.5 x 21 x 1mm.

Post-Printing

I'm a fan of using m3 screws and nuts, so that's what mine is assembled with. I used 15mm long ones and just ground off the excess (mine came out to about 6mm, so a 10mm screw might be close to perfect)

I recently added a gasket kit I printed using some TPU, just to help it be (hopefully) a little more water resistant.

Category: Automotive
