Place your problem statement here: The problem that I had during virtual learning was, my Chromebook didn’t open the same every day. Though this may sound extreme, depending on where you’re working there may be a glare or something of that nature that could affect how well you can see your screen. The solution that I propose is we make some sort of dial that only allows the Chromebook to open a certain amount. This could be done by a small device at the bottom corner of the screen that you could set to a certain amount of lean. That is my idea for this design challenge What issues did you come up against? One of the bigger issues that I noticed when designing this was that I have to watch how close I was to the 5x5x5 border, which is the size of my 3D printer at school. I got over this because I started to make multiple pieces. The other big issue that I ran into was the stability of the design. This came up because I think that when you open the screen it has a chance to push back on the screen holder. This was solved by making a support below the initial support. If you could redesign this again what would you change? I would make some sort of support for the actual screen holder so that it would be more stable when you opened it. This could be done by reprinting the support piece and making a rotating support. It could also be a stationary support but if that were the case when you switched the angle it might not support it as well. How would 3D printing help strengthen your design? I think that because the printing is layered and crossed it helps with how stable the screen supporter is. I think that this helped my build because if it were made of something weaker it wouldn’t be stable. The 3D printing also helped by allowing for multiple pieces to be made at once. 3D printing also helps because it allows for the same measurement to be given versus just opening it by hand.
