Screw Bit Holder for Kobalt Drill

I got tired of losing my screw bit for my Kobalt drill/screwgun. I designed a bit holder that attaches where the belt clip mounts to. It holds two 1/4" screw bits.

You will need an M4x10mm Hex Button Head Cap Screw. It should be a button head to make sure it doesn't stick up too much around the edge of the screw.

2019-08-05

Stronger version uploaded
Print Settings

Printer:

Wanhao D9

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

100%

Filament: Ziro PLA Green (recommend ABS)

Notes:

I used PLA for my print and it is working but I suspect it won't last long. Leave it in the sun and it will soften, Push too hard and it will likely break. I recommend using something that will handle the stress and temperature better like ABS (maybe PETG).
I printed this at 0.2mm but I think printing it at 0.1mm layer height would be beneficial so that the layers are smoother for the screw bit to slide into place easier. My next one I will print at 0.1mm.

I used support for this. The lower edge is less that 55 degrees (it sits at an angle on the bed) and the inner cavity really should have support.

These are the support settings that work well for me to make the supports easier to remove and still support well.

Support Overhand Angle: 55
Support Pattern: Zig Zag
Support Density: 20
Support Z Distance 0.2
Support Horizontal Expansion 0.4
Gradual Support Infill Steps: 2
Gradual Support Infill Step Height: 3
Enable Support Interface: (unchecked - disabled)

Update: I recommend 100% infill. 20% infill is too weak.

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
