This is a screwdriver holder which fits in the corner of an IKEA HEJNE shelf unit; see the attached picture for fit details.

I've included the Fusion 360 .f3d in case you need to make any adjustments. I have a few in mind, detailed at the end of this document.

Installation

Note: this design assumes your shelves are assembled with the supports at their furthest outward; that is, in the configuration you would have for multiple banks of shelves. Look at the installation photos to see what i mean; if your support overlaps the shelf because it's using the outside holes, you'll need to change this design.

You'll need:

1x M3x20mm bolt

1x M3 square nut

1x M3 washer Steps:

Drill a 3mm hole through the center of the shelf inset; see the design and pictures for details.

Remove the bolt holding on the shelf (make sure to remove all items from the shelf first, obviously)

Insert a M3 square nut into the slot on the bottom of the holder. You'll need to work against gravity here, so if it doesn't hold tightly in the top of the slot (and in line with the bolt hole) make sure to stick it in there with something fairly weak. I used a glue stick.

Put the holder in place, and attach it with the M3x20mm bolt (and a washer), which should go through the shelf, into the holder, and tighten into the M3 square nut. Tighten it thoroughly, until the shelf bolt hole lines up with the hole on the part.

Put the shelf bolt back in, which will go through the holder
Improvements

This works well enough for my purposes, so I'm not going to iterate on it, but there are definitely things you could do to improve it:

Move the slot for the square nut to the side, so you don't have to fight gravity. It's obvious in hindsight, but I didn't realize my mistake until the installation. Worked fine as is though.

Taper the screwdriver holes a bit, it might make them a bit more steady when held.
Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20mm

Infill:

20%

Filament:
eSUN PETG Gray

Notes:

I printed this in PETG because I thought it being a bit more flexible might be better than in PLA.
