Scroll Case

Scroll Case

thingiverse

The provided file is one universal half of a scroll case, intended to safely encapsulate any 4¼ " to 8½ " document, in a slim form factor, without folding or creasing. The meticulously designed ornate facade conceals a utilitarian alternative to folios and binders, while at the same time acting as an objet d'art, suitable for presentation or decoration, even immediately after printing. To use, carefully roll a document from top to bottom, using ones thumb or index finger on the interior of the resulting scroll to tighten, and deposit this loosely in the first half. Place the second half on top, twisting appropriately to align the trefoils, finally bringing the halves together until closed. The scroll case will snap together, maintaining its union through friction and compression, while completely protecting the document within. Instructions Designed completely on Tinkercad. https://tinkercad.com/things/4Vmp4x06Nxz-scroll-case-1 Printed (as per photos) with Warm Gray PLA, high shell count, 0.10mm layer height 100% infill, at 240 C. (took about 20 hours for 2 halves in one print).
