SCX24 hinged Rock Buggy with Stinger Bumper and extras
thingiverse
This is a hinged body-on-rails design for the SCX24. This is based off the Deadbolt chassis with a shortened rear wheelbase. The body sides are intended to be printed flat and bent to shape using the roof and hood as guides. It uses SCX24-sized M1.3 screws to assemble (I recommend a 1.2mm chaser drill to clean out the screw bosses); these can be acquired individually or as part of a "SCX24 screw kit" (which usually come with a few extra SCX related goodies). The body posts use standard SCX24 1mm body clips I recommend chasing the headlight LED holes with a 3mm drill for better clearance. The ESC tray/shock mounts can hold the standard SCX24 2-in-1 ESC/receiver in a forward "semi-supported" orientation but will require cable extenders to reach most batteries. I am assuming the use of a forward low-CG type battery tray see designs by Nick3509 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4295544) and HumboldtEF (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3677918). This tray will fit the standard 030 motor but will need to be trimmed slightly to fit an 050. The swing arm with switch is intended to fit the cheap-O type replacement ESC that you can find readily available on the internet. (Usually listed as 20~30A) The rock rails can be mounted with the standard screws, but I recommend using slightly longer screws to go through the linkage balls on the ends (I find they have a tendency to strip out otherwise)
