This ship is created for the 2019 GrabCAD Spaceship Design Challenge. Please see the file <<notes – SDB-19.docx>> for details regarding construction, and contest requirements.A ship designed by the military for use as a dive bomber against enemy (i.e. alien) vessels. Once it was realized that we are alone in space, the ships use in military operations was not needed. Today most of the ships have been converted for science and research purposes.The wings are removable to conserve space on space based carriers, but the scientists are just as happy to be able to fit an extra SDB-19 or two in their research vessels. The wings allow for limited atmospheric flight. The original payload of missiles and bombs have been replaced with scientific instruments and probes.
