Second and Third Iteration Sierpinski Tetrahedra

Second and Third Iteration Sierpinski Tetrahedra

The Sierpinski Tetrahedron is the 3D analogue of the Sierpinski Gasket, a famous 2D fractal created by beginning with a triangle and removing triangles of increasingly smaller size. A true Sierpinski Tetrahedron has zero volume, because an infinite number of smaller and smaller tetrahedra have been removed. How I Designed This The Sierpinski Tetrahedron can be created either by putting many other tetrahedra together, or by starting with a base tetrahedron and removing progressively smaller tetrahedra. I created this model by arranging tetrahedra in lower iteration Sierpinski Tetrahedra to form a higher iteration model. The edges were then expanded so there would be enough overlap among individual tetrahedra for printing. Iteration 1 Iteration 2 Solidified Iteration 2
