Puzzle description: This is one of the oldest checkerboard dissection puzzles, it appeared around 1880. Put the 15 pieces together to form a 8x8 checkerboard with correct pattern. The pieces are one-sided. For more historic information about the puzzle see Jim Storer's puzzle page at www.cs.brandeis.edu/~storer/JimPuzzles. If you can read German: Mehr Informationen gibt es in https://welt-der-geduldspiele.blogspot.com/ Puzzle difficulty: This puzzle is much easier than New XceL Checkerboard Puzzle (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4798194) or Checkerboard Puzzle - Only 12 pieces (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4835203). Here we have more smaller pieces which you can use late in the puzzle. Printing instructions: The main color (usually black) is used for the pieces and half of the caps. A second color is needed for half of the caps for the checkerboard pattern. The caps can easily be snapped onto the pieces. For the 15 pieces you need * 3 copies of the part V3, printed in the main color; * 2 copies for each of the parts L4, N5, and V5, printed in the main color; * 1 copy of the remaining six parts, printed in the main color; * 32 caps printed in the main color, * 32 caps printed in the second color. A tray fpr the 8x8 checkerboard also is provided. Prints are fine with no supports. Snap the caps onto the different parts as in the picture. The caps are printed upside down, so the pieces will have a very flat surface. Be sure to use the correct checkerboard pattern for the pieces. I printed the puzzle in PLA at 0.1 mm layer height.
