Security Camera Box Mount

Security Camera Box Mount

This is something you never knew you needed. It's designed to mount a small security camera upside-down. This can be useful if you are mounting say a ceiling mount dome camera somewhere other than a ceiling, or a ptz that you want to have more down-angle versus having it upright. Depending on the camera the box is deep enough and the slot long enough that you can slide the box all the way flush with the window to eliminate glare (at the expense of some down angle). Then all you need to do is drape some black duvetyne behind the box and you have no glare (provided you print in black like I did). The box features a beefier base with a hole sized for a 1/4-20 heatset thread, but you could also use a nut/bolt if you needed to. The slot is elongated so you can adjust where the camera lands with respect to the box. My application was for one of those $100 Amcrest PTZs (IP3M-941B), but it'll work with anything that can fit in a 120x120mm space (although the nut/bolt method will be a bit snug with this camera). Easy print. Use supports if you don't think your printer can span the gap. I printed it open-ended down. Took a while because you should use a pretty decent fill if you're going to do a heatset.
