Fake-chrome plastic platters from party supply places work well, but I have also used small stamped-metal platters. I have tried a double-height stack holding 12 glasses spiraling up through two rotations, but the mini bot becomes alarmingly unstable if the center of gravity gets too high. I stopped my trials before any catastrophes with broken glass, but the double-height stack is admittedly even more impressive than the single -height stack.
