SELF PORTRAIT

This is a reflective piece, literally and metaphorically. This self portrait is a depiction of my current and perpetualy operational state as a living human. As people we are continually shifting through time, growing, and computing ourselves to become better versions of our own selves. With trying to mentally grasp the notion that I am incessantly moving forward in time and being sculpted into different versions of myself through the span of my life I have evoked and conducted this bat shit craziness of an idea into my portrait. As I stride through time my visual identity follows, my face changes, body changes, my skin. This vessel is aging . And at the end of it all I extrude my face. Looking straight on, my face appears normal, but when viewing from a different angle, much in life you can see the extrusions and this visual metaphor of myself shifting through time, slowly propelling into the future and along my timeline as a human being.
