W.I.P VERY PRELIMINARY! In order to adress the oversized/expanding package issue, this design added to the existing configuration a processing unit. The processing unit is intended for private user. For courrier, the terminal is equipped with tag reader. How does it work? After the user entered his information, a sliding door opens and he is prompt to insert his package. Once the package is inserted, the doors are closed. Size and weight are then measured and if the requirements are not met a warning appeared on the screen and the doors opens, the package is rejected! if the requirements are met, a drawer is preselected for the customer, and once the payment is made, the doors, then the drawer opens and the package can be inserted. UPDATE 1 After several iterations ponctuated by a steep learning curve, a less preliminary model is now completed and uploaded! In other to acheive low manufacturing cost and assembly flexibility, almost every parts are made in sheet metal steel. The design of the sliding door of the processing unit is changed from what pictured on the early proposal. To minimize his footprint, the door opens and closed verticaly, thus freeing the space for the adjacent drawers. This unit is equipped with a scale (thanks to Steem Winter for the kitchen scale model) and two mounted laser sensors. Since after the processing is done and a drawer is selected and automatically for the user, there is no control on which package will be inserted in the drawer, a top plate is added to prevent drawer jam. Drawers are equipped with accuride full extention slides with integrated electronic lock. A pusher ( DC electromagnet, Cylinder housing, rod, spring) is designed to operate in conjonction with the kick-out option provided with the electronic lock.
