Seltzer Bottle Charge holder

Seltzer Bottle Charge holder

thingiverse

This is a CO2 charge holder for older seltzer bottles. The seltzer bottle works in a similar manner as the modern "Sodastreams" but uses a smaler single charge cartridge, held in place with the charge holder for as long as the bottle is pressurised(Valves was fist used in the 20s). As the original cap does not fit modern cartridges I had to make this charge holder to be able to carbonate the water. Specificly it fits seltzerbottles of the Aerators LTD (Pre 1920s). The thread on these bottles does not fit modern adaptars eighter, thus the need for this printed part. Disclaimer: Pressure, danger, use caution, you are yourself responsible and so forth Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: RepRap Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% + Notes: Do not print the model "standing" (circles in the plane) as the tensile strenght between the layers is not suficient to make it usable. Post-Printing Fiting the thread The thread should have been edited to give sufient tolerances to fit nicely. But should this not be the case the part (if printed with PLA) can be carfuly heated with boiling water on the threaded end, then screwed onto the siphon to form the threads further(I had to do this for my first model, and it actualy works better than the one that was printed "right")
