This cello is designed to be modular and open to modding and experimentation. All parts are attached via nuts and bolts and can be individually replaced with ease. No glue is used. The body consists of 3 sections with identical interfaces. As shown in the video it has a soundbox and a legrest attached to the middle section. Additional soundboxes and/or preamp housings, carrying handles, folding stands, etc. can be attached to other sections as desired. I look forward to see ideas, especially wrt soundbox design and arrangement. Hardware required: 20mm x 16mm x 1000mm Carbon Fiber tube x1 16mm x 12mm x 500mm Carbon Fiber tube x1 8mm x 6mm x 500mm Carbon Fiber tube x1 Set of bass guitar tuners (2R2L) M4 x 45 Pan head machine screw x100 (I used Phillips, but whatever drive should work fine) M4 x 20 Pan head machine screw x100 (Whatever drive) M4 x 25 Pan head machine screw x2 M4 x 35 Pan head machine screw x2 (Optional) M4 nut x 100 M6 x 80 Hex bolts x25 (Socket head with washers should work as well, but pan heads WILL NOT WORK) M6 x 45 Hex bolt x1 M6 x 65 Hex Bolt x2 M6 nut x 25 1/4 in.-20 x 1 in. Hex bolt x1 (Could be slightly longer, Metric replacement M6 x25) 1/4 in.-20 Wing nut x1 (or M6) Cello strings, Bow, Rosin Print Parameters: All parts will fit on a 190x190 printer bed. Default 0.4mm nozzle with 0.6mm extrusion width, 0.25mm layer height, 3 perimeters, 30% infill, no supports. Tuner_housing, Body6, Body5, Body_1, all Body_Sections, Tailpiece and Tailpiece_Base: 4 perimeters and 50% infill Body1-4: Fingerboard part needs to be printed with 0.08mm layer height, or as low as your extruder can manage.
