I stink at consistent seam distances. So I created this template which has standard metric and imperial allowances. This template is meant to be combined with a straight edged magnet. you take the template and put the sewing machine needle through the hole at the seam allowance you want put the foot down and make sure the edge is straight to the foot. then place the magnet at the edge of the template. This will give you a straight edge to use for your seams.
