I wanted a method of sewing cord (e.g. paracord) directly to fabric. For example, to sew bunting along a string. Conventional cording foots allow one to sew cord inside a hem whereas this holds the cord directly underneath the needle. It requires a 2mm rod to join the two parts together. The top part (1) should be sanded off at the bottom to allow the bits to pivot slightly
