SG-1 Stargate with symbols

One-sided "Milky Way" style Stargate, including gate symbols (unlike other Stargate things currently available). Now includes 'offworld' staircase/platform to be printed separately. Instructions Edit: Uploaded a new version (Stargate_8inches_Improved_2013_07_28.stl) which solves a lot of alignment issues, and most importantly expanded the symbols so they print nicely. Lastly I moved the Ã… symbol enough to uncover it from the top chevron. After I confirm the print I'll release all the scad files. If you want to print you'll need to print with a horizontal resolution of 0.25mm instead of the default 0.4 on an Ultimaker. I'm not sure Cura is capable of that, but KISSlicer is (really, I promise). A 0.2mm vertical resolution is just fine. I loved the Iris Box stargate (thing:6773) and the similar gates, but I was sad that none of them have symbols! This thing still needs work, but it's a good first draft. I painstakingly modified an existing .SVG inkscape drawing of a stargate, and separated its components into layers which I then converted to .scad files. Thanks to "Inkscape to OpenSCAD converter v3" (thing:25036) for the converter. It isn't perfect but it sure gets the job done! With a main Stargate.scad file I import ('use' actually) the layer files, scaling them to make a nice-looking gate. It is a tiny bit parametric - I added an approximate scale factor to scale the radius while maintaining a plausible thickness.
