I was hesitant to cut the shafts when replacing them. Instead, I decided to make clamps and enhance the stop's rigidity. It worked out extremely well. So far, a kilogram of plastic has been rolled without any movement. For the bolts and nuts, I'll choose whatever lengths are available at home.
