Here we have a Sharpie mounting kit for your FirePick Delta robot! We are currently using our own FirePick Delta as a development platform to test some ideas, and we wanted to draw things on our work platform. These are the two parts needed to mount a Sharpie branded marker pen to the FirePick's end effector. A Sharpie pen has a slight taper to it and will taper lock into the 'Sharpe Mount' part, but if you want to use a different pen I've added a couple of through holes that can be tapped M6 if you need to add some grub screws for extra grip. Print Settings Printer Brand: Up! Printer: Up Plus2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 or smaller. Infill: Fairly dense Notes: This was designed to print on the UP! Plus 2 3d printer with no support ) I set the support angle to 10 degrees to achieve this). I usually use a raft but there is no reason that you couldn't print it raftless. Because of the thread, it is best to print this with as fine a resolution as your machine will allow. I printed this at 0.15mm layer height and it feels really good. Post-Printing The sharpie slides in from the bottom (the threaded end of the mount body). A sharp tap on a hard surface will set it rigidly in place. If you are using a different brand of pen you might need a bit more grip. Run a 5mm drill through the cross bore hole, and then tap to M6x1.0. You can then add a grub screw to get a bit of extra cursh on the pen. How I Designed This This model was created in SolidWorks 2007. The thread has a pitch of 2mm, 60 degree tooth form, and 0.4mm crest and root radii. The female thread inside the nut is designed with 0.5mm clearence from the male part. i.e. both the major and minor diameters of the female thread are 0.5mm greater than that of the male part.
